It is a good thing that nowadays the Muslim's attire is getting more popular and can be easily obtained in all around Malaysia. Today, there are lots of variations in the Muslim's clothing design. The sales demand are going tremendously high as there are lots of fashionable, trendy and sophisticated clothing for a 'Muslimah' and yet still maintaining modesty and covering the aurat. Most of the new clothing design appeals to all stylish Hijabistas for the exclusive dresses and elegant smart casual attires, embodies comfort and style, loose and fluid, trendy and modest, premium and affordable, and functional and wearable . Now, in Malaysia, not only the Muslims are wearing these new and trendy clothing, even the non-Muslims are also attracted to purchase and wear them daily.
However, it is found that, not all of the new Muslim's clothing trends are really covering the aurat. This matter arises as most of the designers do not fully understand on what is so-called 'a Muslim's wear'. Some of the designer used inappropriate and unsuitable materials in designing the new Muslim's clothing, for example; a robe made of lycra fabric. Well, it is known that lycra is a fabric that sticks to the user's body, yet will make the robe disobeying the real guidelines of the Muslim's wear, which the cloth must be loose and comfortable. It is also disappointing to know that nowadays lots of boutiques sold what they have called the 'Muslim Wear' but actually it is not.
The designers are too passionate in designing the new trends that have captured the Muslims' heart without following the real 'needs and must' of a real Muslim's wear. They are eagerly competing in designing the new trends as the sales market is at the peak. Hence, making the real means of the Muslim's attire which is to cover the aurat useless and no point anymore.
Yes, I know that the problem arises not only because of the designers, but also because of the users themselves. As Muslims users, they must know their own responsibilities toward their religion, as a 'Muslimah' she must know the exact meaning on what is so-called 'a Muslimah'. Islam has never preventing its 'ummah' from being modest, but as a respect to our religious, we must be careful in choosing and wearing the right attire. Thus, it may reflects the culture and lifestyle of the Islamic people in Malaysia.
This is all only my opinion, they are still arguable and yet can be improvised for a better means.
